ROME - The cholera epidemic in Yemen is worsening, with 300,000 new suspected cases, according to the International Red Cross. The World Health Organization (WHO) said 41% of the new cases are children.

More than 1,600 people have already died in the outbreak, and the country's healthcare structures are overwhelmed.

Doctors and nurses haven't received their salaries in six months and WHO is paying incentives to medical personnel to create a network to handle the emergency.
