(ANSAmed) - BEIRUT, MARCH 15 - A mass grave with the remains of 300 people has been found in recent hours in Raqqa, northern Syria.

The city was under the control of the Islamic State (ISIS) for about three years, from 2014 until 2017.

Reports were from medical sources and the local civil defense, as well as the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR). Local organizations began looking for mass graves near Raqqa, between Aleppo and the Iraqi border, in recent months.

Several other mass graves have since been found, with the remains of thousands of people in them. (ANSAmed).
