Migrants: no news of missing boat - NGO

Sea-Eye vessel last night searched for boat with 50 on board

03 April, 15:54

(ANSAmed) - ROME, APRIL 3 - There has been so far no news of a missing vessel with an estimated 50 migrants on board that had requested to be rescued two days ago by calling the service Alarm Phone. The Alan Kurdi rescue vessel operated by the NGO Sea-Eye - the only humanitarian ship left in the central Mediterranean - looked for them all night.

''The Libyan coast guard is not sending vessels, there is no search plan'', Sea-Eye wrote on Twitter. ''Who can explain to the Libyan coast guard what search and rescue means?'', the organization tweeted, asking Malta's Prime Minister Joseph Muscat to send a plane to search for the migrants.
