(ANSAmed) - RABAT, APRIL 12 - A 22-year-old woman is the first female to respond to the call to arms in Morocco's compulsory military service. Hasnaa Belaziz, who currently works as a secretary in a university clinic in Marrakech, has decided voluntarily to enlist.

"Becoming a police officer has always been my dream," she said in an interview with a local TV station.

"I hope this experience will give me the chance to prepare for my ambition," she said.

She plans to enlist voluntarily, since having a job gives her the right to an exemption. Enlistment is planned for the beginning of September but Belaziz, who is originally from southern Morocco, has already filled out her application.(ANSAmed).
