RABAT - A new service called 'Goki', a sort of Uber for children, will start operating in September in Morocco to drive children to school as of September. The service, which can also take kids to after-school activities like soccer practice or ballet classes at the parents' request, vies to compete with traditional and public transport, said its founder Achraf Zelmat. It will initially operate in the capital and then in all of Morocco.
''Buses in Rabat are in poor condition - he said - so we will help worried parents to find an alternative to send their little ones to school'', he said.
The service can be booked with an app that enables users to plan a whole week. The parent can follow in real time their children's position thanks to the app. Parents will be informed with a text message once their kids have reached the intended destination.
It will also be possible for the kids to be accompanied by a grandparent or nanny indicated by parents. The monthly fee will be on average the equivalent of 130 euros.
