11 June, 12:31

(ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, JUNE 11 - Two members of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) security service were wounded on Tuesday night in Nablus in the West Bank in a clash with Israeli soldiers, which both sides said was due to mistaken identification.

The incident took place outside the Palestinian Preventive Security headquarters, when Palestinian officers blocked a suspicious vehicle in which undercover Israeli soldiers posing as Palestinians were travelling.

An Israeli military spokesman said the Israeli undercover agents felt threatened by armed militants and opened fire.

Palestinian news agency WAFA said Israeli soldiers also shot at the Preventive Security building, "thereby putting the lives of those inside at risk".

Israeli Army Radio said Palestinian Preventive Security usually cooperates with the Israeli Army, and a verification has been opened to examine the incident.(ANSAmed).
