TEL AVIV/GAZA - Three Palestinians in the night between Tuesday and Wednesday were killed by an IDF unit after crossing the perimeter fence with Gaza and throwing a bomb at the soldiers, military radio reported on Wednesday.

The three were planning an attack, according to the report.

Palestinian sources said the three youths had been instructed by the Islamic Jihad although they were not formally members.

Over the past few hours Israel has raised the security alert around the Gaza Strip over fears that Palestinian militias could plan attacks as dozens of foreign leaders will be travelling to the Jewish State to mark the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. In particular, military radio reported that in that area Israel has boosted the Iron Dome defense system against rocket attacks.
