BEIRUT - Four Iranian Pasdaran members have been killed over the last few hours in Syria following a raid attributed to Israel which targeted the area of the airport in Damascus, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Friday. According to the NGO, a military cargo plane loaded with weapons and equipment probably meant to go to Iranian troops in Syria and pro-Iranian Lebanese Hezbollah militias was hit and destroyed.
The victims include three Syrian government soldiers, according to the observatory.
On February 6, another raid in the area of Damascus attributed to Israel killed 23 members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, pro-Iranian militants who were not Syrian nationals and Syrian government forces, according to the NGO.
Last night a Katyusha rocket was launched by unidentified armed men against the military base of Kirkuk, in northern Iraq, where US soldiers are stationed.
Previously, pro-Iranian Iraqi militias and Iran threatened to respond to US and Israeli attacks in the region by targeting US military positions in the Middle East.
