Migrants: IOM says over 20 people went missing off Libya

454 people brought back to North African country in one week

    TUNIS - A spokesperson for UN Migration Agency IOM said on Tuesday that more than 20 migrants were "lost at sea after their boat overturned off the coast of Libya last night" and "another 45 people were brought back to shore by the coast guard". Between September 8 and 14, a total of 454 migrants were intercepted at sea and brought back to Libya, IOM said in a tweet. Thus far in 2020, the Libyan Coast Guard has brought 8,453 migrants back to the North African country, IOM said.
