Three operations by Coast Guard, 'pushed back by Greece'

    (ANSAmed) - ISTANBUL, OCTOBER 23 - The Turkish Coast Guard on Friday rescued 232 migrants and refugees having problems at sea who were trying to reach Greek islands.

    The largest operation, according to security sources cited by Anadolu, was off the Marmaris coast where 121 people were rescued on vessels drifting, most of whom Syrian nationals, including women and children.

    Another 76 were recused off Data and near the Bodrum coast.

    According to the authorities in Ankara, the migrants had been pushed back by the Greek Coast Guard.

    All have been transferred to identification and reception centers. (ANSAmed).
