(ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, JANUARY 21 - Violence by extremists in the settlement movement continues in the West Bank, where on Thursday two young men managed to infiltrate a military base, said a military spokesman.

Soldiers followed the men and took them into custody, and two of their companions who were nearby were also arrested.

On Wednesday, public broadcaster Kan showed a recording of a speech by West Bank military commander General Tamir Yadai, who said the extremist fringe of the settlements - to which repeated attacks on the Palestinian people are attributed - have become "a hot potato" not only for the army but also for political leaders.

On Thursday at the orthodox settlement of Modiin Illit (West Bank) writing was found inciting the killing of Arab public bus drivers who work in that area.

According to media reports, Arab bus drivers who come to the settlements are often subject to intimidation and sometimes even violence.

Their association is now threatening to interrupt service.(ANSAmed). (ANSA).
