'Attempted murder' among charges

03 March, 11:54

(ANSAmed) - MADRID, MARCH 3 - A judge in Barcelona has ordered overnight the preventive custody, without the possibility of getting bailed out, for the six Italians arrested on Saturday night in the Catalan city. They are accused of "attempted murder" after, according to the police, they set on fire a van of the Urban Guards with an officer on board during protests for the arrest of rapper Hasel, Spanish media reported on Wednesday.

The same measure was ordered for the Spanish and French women suspected of being part of the same "violent" and "organized" group that took part in protests Saturday.

The eight - including five men and a woman of Italian nationality aged 28 to 35 - are also accused of "attacking police officers", "belonging to a criminal group", "damages", "illicit demonstration" and "public disorder". (ANSAmed)
