(ANSAmed) - ROME, DECEMBER 4 - Italian Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano has expressed satisfaction over an ''order worth about 3.5 billion euros from the Bahrain Petroleum Company to an international consortium led by company Technip Italia''.

''This is a relevant goal that confirms the excellence of the Italian industry in the sector'', he said.

The order, issued a few days ago, concerns an engineering development program to modernize and widen the country's only refinery that will make the plant one of the most modern in the world, with the best parameters of energy efficiency and respect for the environment.

''The egregious result, which confirms the excellent state of bilateral relations with Bahrain, will strengthen the presence of the Italian System in the Gulf, will increase the relevance of our engineering and construction companies in the area and will have a relevant impact in Italy in terms of the provision of goods and services. This success is the outcome of the high quality of our enterprises as well as the foreign ministry's determined support'', added Alfano.

''The role of the foreign ministry and the diplomatic-consular network - concluded the minister - is increasingly crucial in interpreting the dynamic of foreign markets and guiding our companies''. (ANSAmed).
