Italian FM offers condolences to Libyan PM

After latest bloodshed in the country

    (ANSAmed) - CAIRO, SEPTEMBER 11 - Italian foreign minister Enzo Moavero Milanesi on Tuesday morning called Libyan prime minister Fayez al-Sarraj to offer condolences over the recent bloodshed in the North African country. Moavero reiterated Italy's support for his Government of National Accord (GNA), according to the Facebook page of Sarraj's press office in reference to clashes between militias and a terrorist attack on the National Oil Company (NOC). The statement said that the Libyan president had thanked the Italian foreign minister for his condolences, Italy's support for the GNA and Italian efforts to support ''the establishment of democracy in Libya''. It added that the call had included talk on political developments in Libya, bilateral relations and ways to develop cooperation between the two countries. (ANSAmed).
