(ANSAmed) - BRUSSELS, MAY 9 - The anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) of Italian comedian-turned-politician Beppe Grillo has gained adepts in Greece, with the birth of the Drachma Greek Democratic 5-Star Movement.

According to its statute, the new movement embodies "patriotic Socialism with a human face" and is made up of "professionals and political elements that are not in bondage to the Memorandum with Europe".

Its watchwords are "solidarity, efficiency, honesty, transparency, meritocracy" and its program focuses on "the environment and non-privileged citizens who are committed to the country's self-development and self-promotion".

On its agenda: "Ripping up the Memorandum signed with Europe, a return to the drachma, social justice, national dignity, and creating an alliance of Southern European countries". The Drachma 5-Star Movement was founded by university professor Theodoros Katsanevas, a former brother-in-law to former Greek Premier George Papandreou, and journalist Stephanos Mitilineos.(ANSAmed).
