(ANSAmed) - ROME, FEBRUARY 18 - Italian Premier Matteo
Renzi's centre-left Democratic Party (PD) will present and
support a motion in the Lower House recognising the Palestinian
State, parliamentary sources said on Wednesday. The PD will call
for the motion to be voted on on Thursday at a meeting of party
whips, but the vote may be delayed by anti-government
obstructionism. Two other motions, respectively presented by
lawmakers for the Left, Ecology and Freedom (SEL) and the
Socialist (PSI) parties, calling on the government to recognise
the State of Palestine, should also be voted on on Thursday.
