ROME - Egypt's Ambassador to Italy, Hisham Badr, on Wednesday evening said Italy and Egypt "have a lot to work on" in terms of protecting their "economic, political, and security interests, but also cultural interests", speaking at an event in Rome organised by the Egyptian Tourism Board.
The event, which was also attended by Egyptian Tourism Minister Mohamed Yahia Rashed, took place to present the itinerary "The Path of the Holy Family in Egypt".
"Our partnership is essential also at a regional level, for managing migrant flows and the fight against terrorism, as well as the Libyan dossier," Badr said.
"We will move ahead with our cooperation in a transparent and clear way," he said.
"The Mediterranean is becoming an increasingly difficult sea for all of us. There must be cultural bridges and bridges of dialogue, and the blessing of the icon that depicts the journey of the Holy Family in Egypt marks for us a great success in cooperation," he said.
