(ANSAmed) - BARCELONA, OCTOBER 12 - Spain on Thursday is celebrating a national holiday in the midst of the Catalan crisis, the most serious experienced by the country since the end of Franco's regime.

King Felipe VI and Premier Mariano Rajoy will attend a traditional military parade at 11 am in the Paseo de la Castellana in Madrid, with the participation of 3,800 soldiers and officers from the Guardia Civil and Policia Nacional, with 78 aircrafts. The platform for authorities was moved this year near Real Madrid's stadium Santago Bernabeu.

The reception at the Royal Palace will be attended by, among others, the leaders of Spain's autonomous communities (regions) except for Catalan President Carles Puigdemont and Inigo Urkullu, the president of the Basque government. (ANSAmed).
