PARIS - French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday said he believes the end of ISIS is imminent, speaking to soldiers at a French military base in Abu Dhabi.

"Nearly two years, give or take a day, after the attacks, we've won," Macron said, speaking of the allied victory in the former ISIS stronghold of Raqqa, in Syria, from where he said the Paris terrorist attacks of November 13, 2015 were "planned, organised, and commissioned".

Macron said the uprooting of ISIS from Iraq and Syria will be complete "in the coming months".

"But this battle won't be over," he said, warning of numerous "terrorist hotbeds" remaining in the region.(ANSAmed).
