    (ANSAmed) - TUNIS, FEBRUARY 6 - Tunisia is financing four research projects (Fsp) focusing on the fight against terrorism that involve 28 structures, six research centers and 250 researchers in various sectors, said the minister for higher education and research, Slim Khalbous, in Tunis-Gammarth. He was opening a seminar on the role played by scientific research in the fight against terrorism in Maghreb and Europe, with the support of European program Ct Mena.

    The policy of the department of higher education and research in this sector focuses on two key issues, the minister said. He spoke in particular about prevention through dialogue and cultural programs fighting radicalization and the free exchange of students' ideas and opinions. Theater plays, film screenings and debates will be organized at universities across the country. Four multi-disciplinary projects will also focus on explaining the phenomenon of radicalization from the standpoint of social sciences and to contribute to the fight against terrorism through the sciences and new technologies.

    The seminar in Tunis, which wraps up on Wednesday, gathers experts and researchers in various fields from 12 countries and vies to promote the exchange of experiences and scientific knowledge for the prevention and fight against terrorism. The event was organized by the ministry of higher education and scientific research and the defense ministry. (ANSAmed).
