TUNIS - Saudi King Salman bin Abd al-Aziz al Saud was welcomed at the airport in Tunis by Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi for the start of his official visit to Tunisia. The king is accompanied by a delegation of princes, ministers and high officials.
In a statement, the Tunisian presidency said that ''this visit is part of the promotion of extraordinary historic relations between Tunis and Riyadh and the common desire of expansion in all sectors to serve the interests of two populations''.
''Relations between Tunisia and Saudi Arabia have further developed after the visit of president Essebsi to Riyadh in December 2015, followed by the visits of high officials to both countries, including a working and friendship visit of crown prince Mohammed bin Salman to Tunisia in November 2018'', said the Tunisian presidency.
Salman and his delegation will attend on Sunday the 30th summit of Arab League countries in the Tunisian capital.
