GAZA - Hamas will resume its Friday protests on the border between Gaza and Israel following two weeks of relative calm, to demonstrate against the US Ambassador in Israel, David Friedman, who told the New York Times in an interview that "under certain circumstances Israel has the right to retain some of the West Bank." Meanwhile, incendiary balloons continue to be launched from Gaza into Israel.

On Monday in the western Negev desert, four fields were devastated by flames.

On Facebook, a Palestinian unit of balloon launchers announced that in the future it will also fill the balloons with an unspecified "poisonous substance".

For now, however, it's a tactic of psychological warfare, since sometimes sudden changes in the wind cause the balloons to land in the Gaza Strip.

Inauguration postponed for Golan town named after Trump

TEL AVIV - The inauguration of a town in the Golan Heights to be named after US President Donald Trump, which was scheduled to take place on Wednesday, has been postponed with the date to be determined, according to media sources and confirmed by the office of the Golan Regional Council. In April, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the decision to rename the small Jewish village of Kela Alon after the US president, following the US administration's recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, which Israel captured from Syria in the 1967 Six-Day War. Netanyahu was scheduled to take part in Wednesday's inauguration ceremony together with US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman. In a statement, the Golan Regional Council said the reasons for the postponement are tied to "the dissolution of the Knesset, governmental circumstances, and legal questions beyond our control".
