(ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, JUNE 26 - The sultan of Oman told the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) that it will open an embassy in Ramallah in the West Bank.

The announcement, which was reported by local media, coincides with the US-led economic conference that got underway in Bahrain on Tuesday, in which extensive development projects are being discussed for the Palestinian economy.

The Omani Foreign Ministry said the decision to open the embassy is part of the context of "continued support by the Sultanate for the cause of the Palestinian people".
