'More officers for Frontex, more aid to Africa, distribution'

    (ANSAmed) - BERLIN, JULY 19 - The new president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has said in an interview to Spiegel to be published on Saturday that Europe needs a ''new start'' in its policy on refugees.

    ''We need a new start in the policy on refugees'', von der Leyen said in the interview, stating that she has explored in European capitals reasonable solutions, together with the future EU Council president Charles Michel.

    ''More police officers for border agency Frontex, more aid for Africa, the problem of distribution'' are ''all tools on the table'', the new president was also quoted as saying, announcing she will be able to ''find a majority to support'' this.
