    NAPLES - The Football Association of Montenegro (FSCG) inaugurated its new headquarters in the capital Podgorica on the anniversary of the 2006 independence referendum on Saturday."Our new headquarters has been built thanks to financial assistance from FIFA and UEFA and represents an important step forward in the development of football in the country," said FSCG President and former Milan star Dejan Savicevic."We must also thank Podgorica city authorities for granting us this space for the building." "Now our national football association has a headquarters that is fitting to its role as representative of the most popular sport in Montenegro," added Podgorica Mayor Slavoljub Stijepovic in comments reported by UEFA on its website.Savicevic inaugurated the new structure in the presence of Premier Milo Dukanovic, FIFA President Gianni Infantino, UEFA Vice President Angel Maria Villar of Spain and former team members from Red Star Belgrade, Milan and the last Jugoslav national squad.The FSCG HQ extends over nearly 4,000 sqm and is located near the federal technical centre, built in 2008 and used for national team training sessions. "With the support of FIFA and UEFA we have made big investments in football infrastructure in the last eight years and we will continue on this path," Savicevic said.Montenegro failed to qualify for the 2016 UEFA European Championship that opens in France next month, finishing fourth in its group after Austria, Russia and Sweden. Now the national team must compete against Poland, Romania, Denmark, Armenia and Kazakhstan to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
