(ANSAmed) - BOLOGNA, MAY 9 - Italy's Vincenzo Nibali, one of the favourites for the Giro d'Italia that starts Saturday, said Thursday he would try to "live the race day by day".

"We've trained well and we arrive at this Giro d'Italia in a tranquil mood," he said.

"We'll try to live it day by day".

"The stages must be faced with great attention and you have to be as united as possible.

"Immediately there's a very violent and challenging effort, in the time trial that climbs to the san Luca shrine, we'll have to see.

"It's the first stage, it won't be decisive, but we'll have to take care.

Asked who he feared the most, Nibali said: "Dumoulin, Roglic, Landa and Simon Yates".(ANSAmed).
