Tunisian tourism revenue up 42.5% in first half of 2019

Objective is nine million arrivals by end of year

    (ANSAmed) - TUNIS, JULY 9 - Tourism revenue in the first half of 2019 in Tunisia totaled 692 million dollars, a 42.5% increase on the same period last year, according to data released by Tunisian authorities.

    The number of foreign tourists to the country, 3.8 million, was 17% higher than the same period in 2018.

    Tunisian Tourism Minister René Trabelsi, who presided over the inauguration of a new luxury hotel in Monastir on Monday, said the latest attacks in Tunis didn't have an impact on the 2019 tourist season, which is aiming for a record-breaking year with nine million tourists.(ANSAmed).
