Tourism revenue in Tunisia up 46.3%

Over 6 million tourists as of September 10

    (ANSAmed) - TUNIS, SEPTEMBER 19 - Revenue from tourism in Tunisia is up 46.3% as of September 10, compared to the same period last year, reaching 4,091 million dinars (1.2 billion euros), said the Tunisian Tourism Ministry.

    It said a total of 6,618,898 tourists visited Tunisia as of September 10, an increase of 14.9% over the same period in 2018.

    The number of tourists from the Maghreb who visited Tunisia rose 17.4% (3,239,299), European tourists were up 18.4% (2,140,365), Algerians up 8,7% (1.872.936), Libyans up 32.9% (1.306.109), and tourists from Morocco and Mauritania rose 14.5% (60,000).

    Tunisia aims to reach nine million tourists in 2019, compared to eight million in 2018.(ANSAmed).
