(ANSAmed) - BELGRADE, FEBRUARY 14 - Representatives of Serbia and Kosovo on Friday signed a letter of intent to restore the railway connection between Belgrade and Pristina. The document was signed in Munich, Germany, on the sidelines of the International security conference attended by Serbian and Kosovan presidents, Aleksandar Vucic and Hahsim Thaci, and US special envoy for dialogue on Kosovo, Richard Grenell.

The letter of agreement was signed by the director of the Serbian government's office for Kosovo Marko Djuric and a representative for Kosovo's railway direction. Great satisfaction was expressed by Vucic and Thaci, who thanked Grenell, the US administration and US President Donald Trump for their interest in the region and the willingness to work in favor of improving relations between Belgrade and Pristina to solve Kosovo's issue.

''Today's agreement goes in the direction of facilitating exchanges and the free circulation of goods, capital, services and people'', said Vucic for whom everything goes in favor of boosting the economy and improving the situation in the region.

Thaci also expressed satisfaction, thanking Grenell and Trump and saying he was confident about the possibility of being able to reach this year a final accord with Belgrade.
