(ANSAmed) - ISTANBUL, FEBRUARY 14 - The Turkish airline AtlasGlobal has filed for bankruptcy and halted all its flights, according to the Directorate General for Civil Aviation (SHGM) in Ankara. Created in 2011 and operating international flights as well since 2004, AtlasGlobal had previously suspended its flights between November and December due to financial difficulties but later restored them. The airline had said that it was having problems linked to logistics and flight operations costs in relation to the transfer to the new Istanbul airport after the Ataturk airport closed last year. It is not yet known whether previously bought tickets will be reimbursed or whether company employees will be assisted.
