The exhibition, curated by María Toral, will remain on display through January 12 and includes 34 works of paintings, reliefs, sculptures and drawings.
It brings together two generations of Spanish artists who dedicated their lives to avant-garde art in the context of Spain's political and cultural isolation during the 1950s and 1960s.
Among the 18 Spanish artists of the informalism and realism movements in the exhibition are Antonio López, Amalia Avia, María Moreno, Manuel Millares, Juana Francés, Antonio Saura, Rafael Canogar, Manuel Rivera and Martín Chirino.
The exhibition includes works from members of two modern art movements that are most representative of those years: "El Paso", which experimented with Art Informel, and "Realistas de Madrid", which was oriented towards figurative art. (ANSAmed).
