(ANSAmed) - LUXEMBOURG, OCTOBER 20 - The European Union
welcomes the appointment of Khaled Bahah as new prime minister
of Yemen and the fact that his nomination was unanimously
approved by all presidential advisors, EU foreign ministers said
Monday from Luxembourg.
The EU, the Foreign Council added, calls for the quick
creation of an inclusive new cabinet and invites all political
actors to work constructively and back President Gadi in his
efforts.
The EU also stressed its engagement in continuing to support Yemen in its transition phase and called on regional actors to help in this process.
The Foreign Council also welcomed the signing of a peace and national partnership agreement on September 21 and its security chapter, which offer a way out of the current crisis.
State institutions, political parties and social groups must work together to guarantee the quick implementation of all aspects of the agreement, the ministers concluded.
The EU also reaffirmed it will support Yemen in its fight against terrorism. (ANSAmed)
