Summoned tomorrow by Turkey to coordinate on eve of Ramadan

(ANSAmed) - ISTANBUL, APRIL 21 - The Turkish foreign ministry on Tuesday said in a statement that Turkey has summoned "an extraordinary summit of the executive committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at the level of foreign ministers which will take place in video conference" tomorrow.

The statement stressed that the summit's agenda will focus on "boosted cooperation and the coordination between OIC members as part of the fight against Codiv-19 and on joint steps" against the spread of the virus. The meeting will take place on the eve of the holy Islamic month of Ramadan which will start between Thursday and Friday. Muslim countries have already imposed numerous restrictions on community prayers in mosques and on other types of religious gatherings. (ANSAmed).
