MED UNION:SLOVENIAN PRESIDENT DISCUSSED IDEA WITH POETTERING
(ANSAmed) - BRUSSELS, APRIL 23 - The President of the
Republic of Slovenia, Danilo Turk, left today for an official
visit to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, where he was
received by the Parliament's President, Hans-Gert Poettering, an
EU press release stated.
The central topic of their talks were issues regarding the
establishment of the Union for the Mediterranean, the
continuation of the Barcelona Process and the initiative for
setting up a Euro-Mediterranean University with a seat in
Slovenia.
Poettering thanked the Slovenian President for his visit and
for addressing the European Parliament as the first President of
the first of the new Member States that joined the European
Union in the 2004 round of enlargement to hold the EU Council
Presidency.(ANSAmed).
