EGYPT, LIBYA DISCUSS ESTABLISHING INDUSTRIAL ZONE
(ANSAmed) - CAIRO, JULY 3 - Egypt and Libya discussed today
about establishing a joint fishing company and an industrial
zone, government spokesman Magdi Radi said.
The Egyptian-Libyan committee, which convened in Cairo under
Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif and Secretary of Libyà s
General Peoplés Committee al-Baghdadi al-Mamudi, also tackled
means of boosting bilateral cooperation in the investment and
trade domains and removing obstacles facing businessmen of the
two sides, he said.
Trade volume between Libya and Egypt stood at USD 500 million
and Libyan investments in Egypt are estimated at USD 2 billion,
he said. The committee also addressed ways of enhancing
cooperation in the agricultural and food security domains as
well as energy, electricity and oil sectors, he concluded as
