EUROMED: IN JORDAN EU SEMINAR ON WOMEN IN ECONOMIC LIFE
(ANSAmed) - BRUSSELS, JUNE 26 - A Regional Seminar on Women's
Economic Participation will be held June 30-July 1 in Jordan,
organized by the EUROMED Role of Women in Economic Life (RWEL)
Programme, in cooperation with Jordan Forum for Business and
Professional Women.
The two day proceedings will provide a forum for debate on
the key challenges facing women's labour force participation and
entrepreneurship in the region. In addition, the seminar will
provide ample opportunity to present and share good practice
examples among Mediterranean Partner Countries. A key objective
is to set a forward-looking agenda for policy advocacy, and
discuss how key institutional actors can best translate into
action-oriented strategies, programmes and action plans.
The event is held under the patronage of Jordan's Minister of
Planning and International Cooperation, Suheir Al Ali who will
deliver the inaugural speech at the opening session. Keynote
speakers include Senator Wijdan Talhouni Al Saket, Board
President of Jordan Forum for Business and Professional Women
and Olbrechts Francis, Acting Head of the European Commission
Delegation to Jordan.(ANSAmed).
