(ANSAmed) - L'AQUILA - The G14, which includes Egypt, is ''now an established format'' which is able to have ''regular meetings'', said Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi during the press conference for the G8 in L'Aquila. ''We have established that the G8 is not an ideal format for setting out policies, but a structured and well-established G14, which represents more than 80% of the world's economies, makes a real dialogue possible'' he added in the press conference at the end of the second day of the summit. As for the G20 and G24, he observed that ''the number of members is too high, and makes real dialogue impossible, allowing only a round table discussion. We want to have an in-depth analysis, to see whether the G14 is the right format for a discussion which leads to shared results''. The G14 is made up of the G8 and the emerging countries of the G5 (Brazil, China, India, Mexico and South Africa), with the addition of Egypt, on the invitation of the Italian presidency.(ANSAmed).
