SPAIN: SPOTLIGHT ON ITALIAN THEATRE AT OTOO MADRID FESTIVAL

(ANSAmed) - MADRID - Italian theatre will take
centre stage at the 26th Festival de Otono of the Community of
Madrid, with four productions that will provide a panorama of
contemporary theatre, from Goldoni's classic theatre performed
by the Piccolo Teatro of Milan to the Scimone Sframili and Gli
Ipocriti companies. The Italian section open with the Scimone
Sframeli company, which last year performed with great success
at the event with La Festa.
Nunzio, directed by Carlo Cecchi, will be performed with
Spiro Scimone and Francesco Sframeli. The company will also
perform Bar, directed by Valerio bignasco. The Napoli Teatro
Festival and the Gli Ipocrati company will perform Proprio come
se nulla fosse avvenuto, directed by Roberto Ando'. A moral
landscape in the background of a still life, travelled by the
ghost of immigration according to an explanation by Roberto
d'Angio', who will perform at the Naves del Espanol-teatro
Matadero on November 13 and 14.
Finally, Teatri Uniti and the Piccolo Teatro of Milan will
perform the Trilogia della Villeggiatura, with actor-director
Toni Servillo at the Teatros del Canal from November 25-29. A
Goldonian rereading and a fresco of society in the 1700s,
investigating the sentimental upbringing of a group of young
members of the middle-class, explained Giovanni Soresi, with
debuting actress, Anna della Rosa representing the company.
