"It's such a groundless claim that it does not even deserve comment," said Armanod Serena, head of the Asolo prosecco DOCG consortium.
The head of the Veneto regional council, Roberto Ciambetti, said "forget about fake news, this is really trash news.
"If what the paper says is true then the Veneti would be all toothless," he said. The last flap, caused by British media reports, was in August.
