The first half of 2018 was the
worst-ever for cyberattacks, Italian IT security agency Clusit
said in a report presented in Verona on Thursday.
It said it registered and analysed 730 major attacks in the
January-June period, up 31% on the previous six months.
"2018 looks set to beat the sad record of last year, which
was called the year of the quantum leap in cyber insecurity,"
the Clusit experts said.
It said the problem peaked in February with 139 attacks.
The report said IT fraudsters were increasingly "taking the
approach typical of organized crime".
