Three members of the Di Silvio
clan on Monday received mafia convictions for a raid on a Rome
bar last April 1, sources said.
Alfredo Di Silvio was sentenced to four years and 10 months;
his brother Vincenzo to four years and eight months; and the
grandfather, Enrico, got three years and two months.
The three, respectively, were found guilty of bodily harm,
private violence and threats aggravated by mafia methods.
The raid took place in the outlying Romanina district.
The bar owner and a young disabled woman were targeted.
The Di Silvios are a mafia-style gang of Roma extraction.
A member of another mafia-style gang, Antonio Casamonica,
also took part in the alleged raid.
Unlike the first three who opted for a fast-track trial, he
requested a full trial.
In beating the bar owner and the disabled woman, the four
allegedly said "we are the bosses here, it's all ours".
