Industrial production rose 42.1% in
May over April, ISTAT said Friday.
The stat agency spoke of a "significant resumption of
activities" after the coronavirus lockdown.
In April, it recalled, there were widespread closures in many
sectors of the economy due to the virus threat.
On an annual basis, there was still a significant drop due to
COVID, ISTAT said.
The stats agency put it at 20.3%.
