Florence's Uffizi Gallery and
adjacent sites drew some 8,000 visitors on the first weekend
they reopened after the coronavirus lockdown, Director Eike
Schmidt said Monday.
He said some 4,663 people had visited the gallery itself
while 3,254 more visited the Boboli Gardens and 459 Palazzo
Pitti.
Sunday saw the peak at the Uffizi with 2,106 presences,
Schmidt said.
"They are positive numbers that bear out the great desire for
art and beauty in this delicate moment," he said.
