Genoa said Friday that former Italy coach Cesare Prandelli is taking over after they sacked Ivan Juric.
The Serie A side end the Croatian's third stint in charge after the were knocked out of the Italian Cup by third-tier Virtus Entella on Thursday.
Genoa are currently 14th in Serie A, four points above the relegation zone. Prandelli quit the Azzurri after their group-stage exit at the 2014 World Cup.
The former Fiorentina led Italy to the final of Euro 2012.
