Italian Soccer Federation (FIGC) chief
Gabriele Gravina said Monday the FIGC had asked Sports Minister
Vincenzo Spadafora to "weigh quarantine" a week before the
season restarts with Italian Cup semis on June 13 and 14.
The season will continue with the Italian Cup final on June
17 and the resumption of Serie A on June 20.
Matches will be played behind closed doors.
But Gravina said he hoped "with all my heart" for a "small
presence of fans" to be allowed before the end of the
championship later this summer.
"It's unthinkable that in a 60,000-seat stadium there can't
be room for a minimal percentage with all due precautions," he
told Radio 24.
"It's certainly premature today, but it could give another
small signal of hope for our country.
"It would be a way of paying back Italian soccer fans for all
their sacrifices and suffering."
