Recovery Fund:8 countries opposed,but German proposal passes

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, SEPTEMBER 30 - Poland and Hungary and also
the so-called frugal countries (Holland, Finland, Denmark,
Austria), as well as Belgium and Luxembourg, voted - albeit for
different reasons - against the mediation proposal on the rule
of law to budget conditionalities, presented by the German
presidency at today's conference of EU ambassadors (Coreper).
According to European diplomatic sources, the compromise on the rule of law mechanism was, in any case, passed by a qualified majority. The frugal countries (Holland, Finland, Denmark, Austria) and Belgium and Luxembourg voted against the proposal.
For opposite reasons, Hungary and Poland voted against, too.
