COVID:high number of infections in Austria, Slovenia,Croatia

Sightly less new cases today than the record-breaking October 8

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 09 OTT - The number of new COVID-19 infections remains high in Austria, Slovenia and Croatia, according to official data released today.

Another 1,131 infections were confirmed in Austria on October 9, slightly less than the 1,209 announced on October 8. In the country, another 4 people died from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total of deaths to 842. Currently, there are 508 persons hospitalized, 103 in ICU.

Slovenia registered 363 new cases on October 8, less than the record-389 recorded a day earlier. Four people died, bringing the total of deaths from the virus to 165, authorities said on Friday. In Slovenia, 138 people are hospitalized, 22 in ICU.

In Croatia, there have been 457 new COVID-19 infections compared to 542 on October 8, the highest numbers since the beginning of the epidemic. According to the official Koronavirus.hr portal, 385 people are still hospitalized, with 28 patients on ventilator. Three more people died, bringing the total to 313. (ANSA).
