(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 19 JUN - A total of 416.403 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (+4139 day-on-day), of which 187764 in Germany only, were registered in countries in Central- and Eastern Europe, Germany, Austria and Greece, show official data of national authorities received by the World Health Organization (WHO) by 10:00, June 18. The growth of COVID-19 cases in the region continues to slow down in the region, with the exception in the past week of North Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo and Moldova according to data updated as of June 15. Belarus has registered more confirmed cases of Covid-19 per million people than Italy. The total number of fatalities in the region is 16.400 (+116), out of which 8856 registered in Germany, 1451 in Romania, 1286 in Poland, 966 in Ukraine 687 in Austria, 568 in Hungary, 433 in Moldova, 333 in Czechia, , 324 in Belarus, 257 in Serbia, 210 in North Macedonia. Most of cases of COVID-19 in the area were registered in Germany (187764, +580 in the last 24 hours), followed by Belarus (56032, +663), Ukraine (34063, +829), Poland (30701, +506), Romania (22760, +345), Austria (17115, +17), Serbia (12522, +96), Moldova (12732, +478) and Czechia (10162, +51). In Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania and in the Western Balkans (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Albania) 54132 confirmed cases and 2557 deaths were registered as of June 18. In Central- and Eastern Europe, Belarus has registered about 5903 cases of COVID-19 per million inhabitants, compared to 3932 in Italy, followed by Moldova (3591) and Germany (2258), while the lowest rate was observed in Greece (297 per million) and Slovakia (286 per million), according to a count by ANSA based on WHO data. In the region, Moldova has registered the highest number of deaths per one million population in the region (122), followed by Germany (107), North Macedonia (101), Austria (77), and Romania (75), Slovakia the lowest (5). Italy has recorded around 570 deaths per million inhabitants. Between June 8 and June 15, the highest weekly increase of confirmed cases was observed in North Macedonia (+34,0%), Albania (+25,9%), Kosovo (+21,2%) and Moldova (+21,0%). In Serbia, Czechia, Lithuania, Hungary, Estonia, Slovakia, Germany, Austria, Latvia, Slovenia, Montenegro and Croatia the weekly increase of new cases is between 5% and zero. (ANSA).
