Germany: Ifo export index falls to 5.1 points in August
Less optimism in the automotive and chemical manufacturers

(ANSA) - BERLIN, 26 AGO - The German export industry's
optimism is decreasing: according to the Ifo institute, the
index on export expectations in August fell from 7.5 to 5.1
points, after the substantial increase recorded last month.
More caution on the future is shown above all by the automotive and chemical industries, while the mood is better in the electrical sector. Yesterday, the same institute reported an increase in entrepreneur confidence, which rose to 92.6 points from 90.4 in July. (ANSA).
