(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 25 SET - Italy, as of 13, is among the the EU/EEA countries with a stable trend of infections, together with other EU nations including Belgium, Finland, Germany, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) said.

The group of the countries with relatively concerning trends includes currently Austria, Denmark, Estonia, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and the United Kingdom. In these countries, the ECDC clarified, high and increasing notification rates are reported due to high testing rates, and transmission is reported primarily in young individuals, with a low proportion of severe cases and low death notification rates.

In Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Malta, Romania and Spain the overall risk of COVID-19 is assessed as high for the general population and very high for vulnerable people. These countries are reporting high or increasing notification rates in older cases and an increased proportion of hospitalised and severe cases. In these EU member states, increasing or high death notification rates are already observed as of September 13 or may be observed soon, ECDC warned. (ANSA).
